Gone the days repasts together
Merriment that tarnished grew
Hearts no longer light as feathers
Yet still coupled me and you
Early was his heart still beating
Breath encumbered, thoughts still fleeting
Never reached the destination
That the mind thought dear
Soon it was her eyes so bleary
Footsteps took the lamp away
Sad the ruined mask she saw
Forever and a day
Better that the truth be known
Strong into the worldly winds be battered
Bold new targets to be sown
To find their way back home
Soon they found their path was sundered
One branch felt the best to him
The other called the maiden dancing
To her home again
