The solstice spells a dream of peace
Dark cold nights; all cares cease
Time the druids saw rebirth
Time to start the pagan mirth
Warm the halls with holly boughs
Packed away all cares and woes
Bright the log upon the hearth
Kindled then all smiles and mirth
Sing your songs and raise a glass
Warm the hearts of lad and lass
Soon to see the circle round
Longer days will soon abound
Spins the Earth in its place
Blue marble in the dark of space
Save it lest the days grow drear
Love it, both far and near
