Rayon de Soleil

From the sea
From the sand
On the rocks
There she stands

New as day
Hard as stone
Made of clay
Gaze unknown

There to mark
The sheltered shore
That our boats
Will find once more

With her light
Through each night
Shows the way
Toward the right

From the sea
From the sand
On the rocks
There she stood

Pounding surf
Broke apart
Bricks and mortared
Work of art

Dimmed the gaze
Blind once more
There from sea
There from shore

Gone a hundred million years
Not a speck of her appears
Deep waves roll over there
Where her home she did share
