All things come to an end
The mayfly’s dance so short and sweet
The slow existence of a star
for whom we exist in the fraction of the atom’s face
Seeing god’s glory
We leave this world alone as we came in,
Perhaps a little heavier with the memories we have accumulated
Perhaps a little lighter for the good we’ve done
I pray that I leave the world
a better place
a kinder place
a more thoughtful place
than the one I found
When I measure my life I see
The smiles
The laughter
The joy
The hugs
The moments when someone’s eyes light with understanding
At the end I will be in silence,
Bathed in sunlight,
Waiting there beside the river of Zion,
For my children
