UTI Resolved

I called the plastics service yesterday in case the UTI would interfere with surgery and after talking with them went to my doc’s office to have my urine looked at and chat. The bacteria were down to almost nothing and apparently 2x 500mg cipro is a high dose, I was told to just take two more 250mg doses and call it good. Which I’ve done.

Without going into details I now seem to be able to fill a cup with pee, although it is still simpler for a guy to do it.

The surgeon’s office seems to be ok. If nothing else the horse sized doses of neomycin and flagyl will kill any leftover bacteria. You’ll probably see them leaving my neighborhood in small boats bound for Europe.

One of the recommended “meds” for the UTI is an herbal called AZO. I picked up the CVS lookalike. It isn’t cheap but it seems to quell the spasms that can cause urgency with the UTI.

In case you needed proof that UTIs mainly affect women, I went to look for AZO. To do this I went to the “feminine” aisle (odd name really) and walked in a few feet and looked down and it was  there, neatly stashed next to Vagisil and Monistat (or whatever was on that shelf).

Speaking off odd things; I was thinking about using Rogaine again. If you look at men’s rogaine it says “Only for men”, and the ingredients are 5% minoxidil. If you look at women’s rogaine it is exactly the same. Absolutely no difference. Marketing!
