(from my posting in Quora)
No, I don’t
Hate is like an acid that eats away all that is beautiful in your life leaving the ashes of once verdant meadows and fresh running streams.
Hate dims the smiles from your friends and loved ones.
Hate turns the loveliest food to dust in your mouth and the finest wine to vinegar.
It saps your energy and ruins your life, leaving nothing in return.
There are those I detest and disdain, but I don’t waste hatred on them.
It is far better to find more to love and walk away from the hate.

This was a hard lesson to learn. It can feel good initially to vent and rail against people and of course we do need to get such things out, but when those feelings grow from the immediate anger to a long simmering sauce of hatred it becomes self destructive.
I was talking with my dear sister a couple of years ago and she was angry with our dad. But our dad had been dead for six years at that point so I tried to point out that her anger only hurt her.
I do think there are unforgivable things people can do, and cases where hatred is called for, but most people apply it rather too liberally.
