I think I underestimate how corrosive even a single source of stress can be. I know I underestimated how positive finding an activity would be. My stressors were reduced by one – my disability was approved. This was a huge relief, and I finally let out the breath I had been holding in for months.
At about the same time I started volunteering for Freedom for all Massachusetts, a not for profit that is currently working toward keeping the 2016 transgender public access bill intact against a referendum on the Fall ballot. If you can read this (and live in Mass) I’m expecting you to help by convincing your friends and family to vote to keep the law.
I’ve had a few nights of phone bank calling. It was nice seeing some other trans-women, and also to be making a difference.
I was really cheerful yesterday, all but whistling as I went about my day.
I’m also managing to form a schedule of having lunches out with friend each week. Another reminder to measure what I have and not what I’ve lost.
