As Paul Simon wrote back in the sixties. I remember so many great songs from the sixties, but if I were fixty six instead I’m be remembering fondly the songs of the seventies, wouldn’t I?
We’ve started a new year and I find myself curiously more oriented toward Judaism than before, though never rejected it. Not that some of the hard questions have gone away. Really, how does God deal with seeing the Earth disheveled and destroyed. What can I do now to help with healing the planet. Perhaps healing people I meet is good enough, so I eve suceed at doing that? I know I try but people are complicated so I usually just listen.
I was pondering my current state of life. It could be better but I have much to be b
grateful for. In particular my grey matter’s continuing ability to think and solve problems. The world is full of though. My old friend from grad school’ we used to solve many problems and I’m sure if the world would have only tried our solution. Instead we’d have ben in other hot water and we all know that twenty is the ideal age to solve all the world’s problems. We certainly thought so.
So my brain still sputters on low octane fuel and I continue to concern family and friends by believing the current evidence of extra terestrials. Still, I wouldn’t believe without pictures and eye witness testimony from reliable folks I wouldn’t believe it at all and I’d still say I’d like more than a coulple of live shots of et. We’ll see I suppose.
It still gives me hope that some solutions to polution and greenhouse gasses might be just around the corner.
