For I was young, I missed the draft by some years. I still don’t know the direction I would have chosen. I’m not sure that, even now, the old hatreds aren’t still left unanswered for some that lived through that era. Funding for the VA, which should be robust given the promises made seem to run into hesitance and never make the the promises kept tally, especially the treatment of vets with Agent Orange exposure. I still remain astonished that Trumps approval rating is so high when he’s continuously doing things that threaten the average person’s retirement, freedom, and ability to defend themselves against illegitimate claims whether private or public

Our standards of justice now is to only remember the white, the Christian and the American aspects that helped to grow our economy, save our people and fight for justice. When it comes down to the freedom of other groups, it gets mentioned only if it doesn’t detract from us The contributions of minorities are just forgotten.

I’m transgender. Our new commander in chief says we’re all liars. I have my ex who would happily explain to him how hard it was to even get me to engage in what amounted to white lies much less straight forward dishonesty. I might sometimes leave things out, mostly my opinion, for peace sake, but I don’t lie.

Trump is trying in his executive orders on transgender policy to make sure that we of the transgender community will not be able to receive medical, surgical or pharmaceutical aid. No apparent attention has been made to see what the community’s actual needs are. No effort has been made to help ameliorate problems in the community of abuse and murder. Too much emphasis has been placed in the hands of Christian extremist groups who often are ignorant of the harm they do and promote widely condemned practices like aversion therapy.

At no place in the work on this is there recognitions of the need to support children with various kinds of genetic sexual phenotype issues which mirror transgender issues. These folks are often ignorant of basic hormone pathways. They also don’t appreciate that for transgender people the changes to the body are not body mutilation any more then correcting a cleft palette is mutilation.

How long will it be before we start to hear how it’s expensive to keep “criminals” in US prisons. So much less expensive to use El Salvador prisons where someone picked up for there lack of documentation can now spend the rest of their short life living with rodents and being tortured. Where even being entirely and well documented as being innocent of any crime makes you an enemy of the state. Heaven help you if you have a less then positive view of the president.

Just remember, it starts with criminals, then it proceeds to petty criminals, then to those who don’t agree with the leaders, hold unpopular political views or are even having meetings discussing other forms of government. School classes that don’t talk about the founding fathers and the constitution.

I caught a video of some sort of meeting of the cabinet and it reminded me of what the court must of been like in the times of Caligula and Nero. It was like everything from Donald was greeted with the warmest notes of approval and the recognition that he was better then everybody else ever had or would be for the judgment he showed.

The only group opposing him is the court system. Do whatever you can to support the judges. They almost listen to them, but it really does seem to be mere lip service.

I despair for the fate of our country. What conflagration of ignorance and abdication of responsibility, bigotry and class warfare, and the simple breakdown of basic human dignity has led to this. The blame lies in the mirror. Now do your part in fixing it.
