Rooted

Built of steel, built of stone
Castle deep, floating home
There to stay, there to roam
A passing shadow glances

Fastened to a steel bound chair
She rules her world with fits and stares
At the rosebuds in your hair
And wonders where they came from

Then she rises rod in hand
Marches to an unseen band
To the path that leads to land
Though nobles crowd her way

Unadorned she sits at last
Among the many lad and lass
To sing the gay song for repast
The world must turn again
