Quiet as the stars

Along the moonlit path she wanders
Alone she has much time to ponder
of faerie and of times past by
Wondering all the time why

As she turns to the left hand path
Thinking of home and a warm bath
There was a glimpse of something strange
Unexpected as she does range

She comes upon the Elf so fair
Who tells her she is beyond compare
And to follow where he leads
Along the meadow flowers

At last they come upon a copse
Filled with merriment, light and laughter
A gathering of the faerie small
And they turned as one when she called

We need to find a new queen they said
It should not cause us any dread
Her eyes grew wide as she ken
What they meant for her then

Take the chair they urged
A happy song they sang no dirge
The throne filled and her promise fulfilled
Along the dreamlike path
