and I received a very non present via Quora. I like to think I have acquired somewhat of a tough skin but this one transphobe’s posting cut me straight to the heart. It left me in tears and unsure of myself despite all I’ve read about transgender people and my own experiences. Those have often been painful lessons themselves.
This bastard expressed the opinion that parents that support their trans children should be reported to child services, that all transgender people are mentally ill and much much more along those lines. I brought me such pain mentally, I just don’t know what I kept read it. It reminded me of a former friend who had no compassion for my plight. Just live with it he said. In thirty or forty years I’d be dead anyway. Very uplifting.
I confirmed my own knowledge about gender dysphoria and felt somewhat better. But, and this is very rare for me, I hate that man.
In this season let us all treat one another with compassion. Let us remember that words can wound and destroy and let us all be forces for good in this life.

So sorry you have to go through stuff like this. Don’t forget that for every a-hole like the person who made the hateful comments, there are many allies out here who support you and celebrate that you are happy and living the life you choose. Wishing you the best in the new year! Lou (from RPI)

Hi Rachel,
I’m sorry to hear that you were hurt.
When we read, we need to consider the source. The New York Times is more reliable than Fox.
Is this man an expert on gender dysphoria? Does he have gender dysphoria? Is he a doctor? Is he a psychiatrist?
